Be Still…

The hardest part about the last month of pregnancy is the waiting.  Baby Catherine Marie’s due date is this coming Tuesday, February 17 but I’d hoped so much that she would come on February 12, which was my dad’s birthday.  However, she’s still hanging out, snug as a bug in a rug!

A few tears were shed yesterday as I realized she was not going to be joining us before midnight… partly because I’d hoped she would share my dad’s birthday and partly because I’m beyond ready to meet her (and be done with being pregnant).  But God has been so good to me and to us.  And He’s been reminding me the past few days to BE STILL.  “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10  He’s the one that created my body to grow this baby, He’s the one that has always orchestrated my path, He’s the one that has reminded me time and time again that His plans are FAR greater than my own!

These reminders don’t make everything easy automatically, because I’m still human and still have real emotions (that are ramped up thanks to hormones).  But, the reminder that my HOPE is in a God who knows me and loves me far more than anyone else brings peace that can only be attributed to Him.  So, whenever this baby girl does come, we know it will be right on time.

And on that note, here’s a (bigger) peek into her nursery, as I promised earlier this week!  There are still a handful of things I want to do so once she’s here and we’re a little more settled in (and the Eiffel Tower decal for the wall has come in), I’ll do a more extensive tour of the room and what all we’ve put in it!  I think what I love most about it though is that it’s so bright and airy!  The sun comes through both windows in the morning and it just makes the room feel refreshing.  I hope baby Catherine will love it as much as we do!

Nursery looks great ! I’m on the lookout for a plus rug like the one you have there. Would you be willing to share where you found it?

It is VERY hard to wait for the arrival of a little one, especially the first…but those words that God has given you are perfect. God has the perfect time and the perfect birthday for your little one to arrive!
