Birthday Week Giveaways | Day 2 | Sevenly

Wow!  You guys blew me away with your response to the giveaway on Day 1.  I think the most common response was that you were all so glad to now know about fashionABLE and what their cause is… not to mention to now be aware of their amazing scarves :-)

And…… The winner of the scarf of her choice is Ashley Bailey!!  Congrats, Ashley!!  I’ll send you an email to work out the details!

So, with Day 2, I want to introduce you to another really cool company that gives back.  It’s called Sevenly and what they do is to partner with a different organization EACH week of the year.  New artwork is designed for each cause and placed on t-shirts, sweatshirts and bags. On Monday afternoons that new cause is announced and new goals are shown at the top of their page.  For EACH item sold that week, $7 of it goes towards that cause and a check is sent to them when the week ends.  Um, can you say awesome??

After I found this site I was anxiously waiting for the new cause to be announced, and when I saw that it would be for Destiny Rescue, I had no idea what they did or what their cause was… until I looked more closely and realized that they actually go undercover into brothels in Thailand so rescue girls who had been sold into sex slavery.  Please just let that sit with you for a moment…

I was unaware of sex trafficking until a couple of years ago when some friends began posting about it on Facebook.  It didn’t seem real, it didn’t seem that it was possible for something like this to actually be happening in the 21st century.  But it is.

As Jarrid said in the video, 1.2 million children seems like a lot.  But each child that we can help actually helps bring more awareness and starts moving towards ending sex slavery for good.

So, my challenge to you today is to not just enter today’s giveaway to possibly win a cool shirt,
but to enter the giveaway, spread the word, and still BUY a shirt or a bag for yourself or someone else!

I have some dear friends who are actively involved in helping end sex trafficking and if not for them, I would have had no idea that this was even going on.  So, when I saw Sevenly’s cause and especially after I watched their video, I knew for SURE that this had to be a part of this week’s giveaways.  This is a really tough reality and it makes me cringe to think about it.  But, we live in a broken world with extremely broken people who have become SO calloused to what they’re doing and who they are hurting that they have no emotions toward their actions at all.  All of us are selfish, all of us can be stubborn, but all of us can make a choice… and for most of us reading this blog, we have the resources to help this cause today.

For every $1500, one rescue mission is funded through Destiny Rescue and one girl is saved from this life and given a new destiny.  How AMAZING would it be if everyone who read this blog post today purchased a shirt and through this avenue alone WE were able to fund a rescue mission??

Just like yesterday, all you need to do is at least one of the options in the box below.  Although, the more options you do, the more entries you get.  Leaving a comment on this post isn’t necessary, but y’all know how I love reading your comments!
