Not everyone gets to have two wedding ceremonies in one day. And to have been able to photograph both of these for Charlotte and John was so much fun!
When I pulled up to her parent’s house, it was already buzzing with friends and family, but getting to see Charlotte and John in Vietnamese dress was the highlight of my morning at that point! They looked so… regal! And I suddenly wanted to be dressed just like them :-) Only a handful of family members were dressed as they were and it made the morning seem even more festive.
They introduced me to family members and some of their wedding party and before we knew it, the tea ceremony had begun!
Charlotte’s dad is the master gardener and their backyard was amazing!
How beautiful are her nieces?!?!
Charlotte’s parents were such amazing hosts, and working non-stop up until the ceremony.
Not long before the ceremony, “the pig” arrived and everyone was in awe. Well, almost everyone :-)
Charlotte’s uncle began things and then after the tea was served and blessings were said, he introduced Charlotte’s side of the family before John’s dad introduced their side of the family to everyone.
I think he was excited that they were now “Vietnamese married”!
And while this was everyone there, it was only a fraction of the family members they represented!
If the morning went fast for me, I know it sped by for Charlotte and John, because it seemed like there was no time between when I left her parent’s house and when I arrived at Adam’s Pond for their American Ceremony. And while there was a threat of rain that afternoon (thank you tropical storm!), it held off until the very moment they were pronounced husband and wife and walked back down the aisle! It was a perfect evening and I was excited to start the afternoon off with Charlotte’s gorgeous dress and details.
Charlotte, I love this portrait of you!!
My second shooter for the day, Charlotte Ashley, was so amazing! She spend some time with the guys and then stood on the balcony for the ceremony.
I found this spot when we did Charlotte’s bridals last month but we didn’t have time to shoot there. But it was perfectly lit and secluded for their first look!
The Spanish moss makes Adam’s Pond even more romantic!
I loved the grays and pinks… it was the perfect combination of colors for this venue!
Ladies! Just stop. So beautiful!!
And look at these cute girls. I don’t think it matters what they’re wearing, they’re adorable!
The guys looked amazingly dapper in their gray suits. Loved it.
The plan had been for the reception to be outside behind the house, but the rain changed all of that.
Thankfully we got a few photos before the party moved inside!
And then it was time.
Married!
Y’all. I’m convinced that Adam’s Pond is perfect for a wedding no matter what the weather is!
I had to post these two shots because 1) their youngest niece LOVED the dance floor and 2) ever since we had a baby girl, Ben is as smitten with them as I am :-) He took some slow motion video of the girls dancing and was showing it to them. So precious!
And oh my goodness, what an incredible way to end the evening!
Many thanks to the talented team of vendors who made Charlotte & John’s wedding so wonderful!
