Don’t Forget to Dream

It’s mostly the season of life that we’re in right now.  Our baby girl is 7 weeks old today (already??) and we’ve basically been in survival mode since coming home from the hospital.  Life is so different than it was just 7 weeks and 1 day ago, but we’re slowly getting more accustomed to the newest member of our family and how she has changed our lives.

I’m not going to lie, it’s not easy.  We had lots of things going on before her arrival and while I like to think that the whole world stopped because she was born, it didn’t.  The world kept going, life continued to happen, our clients kept planning their weddings, and our businesses kept needing our attention.  And as we are slowly coming out of our newborn-sleep-deprived state, we are catching up and getting back into things as quickly as we can!

But what I realized today is that I’m still sort of in that survival mode.  And some days are going to be just that… which is ok!  But some days are going to be super productive!  My hope on those days is that I don’t forget to save a little time for dreaming, thinking about the future, wondering what we want it to look like, and paving at least an inch toward that dream.  Those survival days won’t provide much time to get very far, but every inch will count!

So, here’s to dreaming… whether awake or while asleep (or somewhere in between!).
