Fabulous Friday | Mother’s Day, Star Trek, and Strawberry Jam

It’s a three-fold kind of weekend… lots going on, yet it’s still going to be a relaxing weekend.  And I love those!  My mom came into town yesterday so we’re having a late Mother’s Day celebration tonight.  Actually, it’s beginning this afternoon because part of our date with her tonight includes going to the movies to see Star Trek: Into Darkness and well, she didn’t see the first one of this new round of Star Trek.  So clearly, she and I need to sit down and watch that this afternoon before going to the theater tonight!  Clearly.

Speaking of summer movies, we’ve already seen Iron Man 3 and I’m SO excited about the other movies that are coming out soon.  IM3 and Star Trek are two of them, but there’s also Man of Steel (I think Superman is my favorite super hero thanks to Christopher Reeve and the ’80s), Fast and the Furious, Monsters University, Despicable Me 2, The Wolverine, Disney’s Planes… and that’s just this summer!  Goodness, I’m going to have to pick up another job just to fund our movie-going-ventures for the summer ;-)

And speaking of summer… it’s strawberry season!!!  I seriously could eat a pound of strawberries a day and not think twice about it.  Several years ago I attempted to make strawberry jam, the kind that my mom used to make that gets to stay in the freezer and is SO yummy on a hot summer day.  Well, if I were to put a hash tag to that first and second attempt, it would be #fail.  So, with mom here, jam maker extraordinaire, I’m going to give it another try.  Be sure to check out my Instagram feed later today to see how that venture is going!  If you have any strawberry jam suggestions, I’m open to them!!
