I am SO excited. And in reality, this trip could not have come at a better time…  In just a couple of days, 300+ photographers will converge on Santa Barbara, CA for a few days full of classes, dream shoots (think wineries, sailboats and vintage trollies!), and more hugs and laughter and food than we might be able to handle!  We had a BLAST last year and in just two short days we’ll get to see old friends, meet plenty of new ones, and have our minds blown by the amazing speakers and wonderful people that we’ll be surrounded with.

What I love most about this particular community is that it’s all about serving.  It’s about people who are further along in their business sharing ideas that have helped them along the way.  It’s about people giving their time to teach things to others that they themselves were taught or perhaps had to learn the hard way.  It’s about people coming together and sharing life and their passion for this thing we get to call our profession!  And from what I understand, not everyone that comes to this has people like that in their home towns.  I’m SO THANKFUL that I live in a part of the country where I have a group of photographers who are already like this.  This industry can be cut-throat at times, but there are men and women in Greenville who were showing me what it means to serve each other and serve our clients as best we can long before I met any photographers outside of South Carolina.

Yes, I love my job, I love this industry, I love that I have friends that share this passion who live 5,000 miles away!  But I’m SO thankful to also have friends and “co-workers” like that right here at home.
