Falling for Pumpkin

My birthday is in October, which means that I love fall already.  But throw in some changing leaves, college football, cooler weather, and pumpkins and I’m falling in love all over again!  And let’s not forget the color ORANGE makes it’s yearly debut!  Granted, I wear orange all year round, but it’s still fun when it begins to pop up everywhere come fall :-)

So of course I began pinning things to Pinterest… but I must make a note on this board.  1) The pumpkin pie Yankee Candle is obviously not food related, but it’s one of my FAVORITE things about fall!  Although I’ve been known to burn that candle in the middle of summer… and 2) while I don’t like coffee or the pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks, I DO get pumpkin spice chai lattes (with no water) every chance I get.  Several years ago I was dying to try the pumpkin spice but couldn’t bring myself to order an entire latte when I knew I wouldn’t like it.  So either someone gave me the idea or I got all crazy myself and asked for pumpkin spice to be added to my chai latte.

Oh my word.  Game changer, people.  Game changer.

Pumpkin Ideas on Pinterest

So, in honor of fall being here and all things pumpkin coming back, we’re going to have a little contest.  ALL you have to do is leave a comment telling me your favorite thing about fall.  That’s it!  And the best part?  You have until Monday (Sept 2) at midnight to enter!  The winner will receive a $15 gift card to Starbucks so you can try the pumpkin spice chai latte (or whatever else you’d like to get)!  For a bonus entry, head over and like our page on Facebook and leave ANOTHER comment telling me you did so (or that you already like it!).

Happy Labor Day Weekend everyone!

I already “like” your page on Facebook but I love your blog! The post about “first look” from your husband made me teary eyed ;) Fall is my favorite time of year because I love to wear boots and sweaters, but mostly because I get to take my family to the SC State Fair and pumpkin patch. We go every October. Not to mention the AMAZING pumpkin mini muffins from Sams Club… I could eat the whole box ;)

I like fall because of the pretty changing color of the leaves, cooler weather and not having to use the air con so much. ;-)

  3. Dayna says:

My favorite part of fall has always been going to the river when the water is still warm but the temperatures start to have a nip in the air. Any fall day that starts with shorts and a sweater is perfect in my book.

  4. Sarah K says:

I love the fall clothes. You can layer things and wear cute warmer clothes but you don’t have to cover it with a big coat like you do for winter! :)

  5. Sarah K says:

Oh! and I have already liked your FB page :)

  6. Melissa says:

There are so many things I love about fall. It is by far my favorite season, and I couldn’t pick just one. My birthday, my wedding anniversary, pumpkin things, cooler weather, and all the pretty colors are just a few!

  7. Melissa says:

I like your page on facebook!

  8. Will says:

Crisp, cool weather to coach in.

Hi Sabrina. I am entering your contest by email because I wanted to post a picture. Without it my comment seems meaningless. I liked you on Facebook also.

I love fall because of everything that makes fall, fall. Everything. But most of all because it hails the coming of a time when all of our children and grandchildren will be gathering at our house for Christmas.

I have a favorite photo that I took on the Christmas Eve after our children assured us they were finished having children of their own. My daughter-in-love, Julia had lined up all the grandchildren’s shoes so they could easily find them and put them on for Christmas morning.

I just had to get that photo. The shoes are lined up left to right from oldest to youngest. Every time I look at it I am reminded of a decade of blessings that came our way in the form of seven grandchildren, and how the last two were born in the fall. This makes fall even more precious and special as I watch all seven grow into themselves.

Cute layered clothes (and scarves and boots!!!!), caramel apples and cool weather! (:

Oh and I already like your page (:

  12. Arica says:

College football, hands down. And maybe cardigans. :-)

    I like your FB page!

  13. Nora says:

I love the colors of the leaves changing, going to the mountains, apples, pumpkins and all of the apple and pumpkin treats the go along with the season, boots, sweaters, spiced everything!!! I think most of what I like about fall is the general feeling of coziness!

  14. Charlotte says:

My favorite thing about Fall is the slightly cooler temps enough to enjoy a little tent camping and camp fire!

  15. Charlotte says:

And already a liker of your beautiful work on FB! :)
