Iana’s Quinceañera

Before last year I’d never been to a quinceañera before.  And now I’ve been to two thanks to my second oldest niece celebrating her 15th birthday this past weekend!

My husband grew up in Paraguay, South America as a missionary kid and his oldest sister met and married her husband down there.  So as their second daughter approached her 15th birthday, plans were underway for a fun celebration!  One of the most fun parts was seeing the beautiful, God-honoring way she and her sister both wanted their ceremonies to be, but also getting to see how different the two girls are in the decorations and festivities at each of their parties.  But the best part?  Getting to watch both of these girls turn into loving and Christ-honoring young ladies.

Iana, thank you for letting me photograph your portraits and inviting us to celebrate with you on Saturday!  We had so much fun and Catherine will be talking about her candy (from your piñatas) and all the balloons for ages to come.

You have grown into a beautiful, kind, thoughtful and caring young lady and I’m so thankful I get to call you my niece!  Happy 15th birthday, sweet girl.  We love you!

I LOVE this one that they chose for her portrait to be on display.
She was smiling over at her sister and that alone makes me smile!

Iana, you are so beautiful and I hope you had the most wonderful quince!
