Christmas 2015

Every Christmas can be so different… even with traditions and family, each year has its own feel to it.  We’ve added a little person to our Christmas, but I know many who have lost family members this year and may not even feel like celebrating.  Trust me, I remember that all to well even though it’s been 21 Christmases since we first celebrated without my dad.

But the good news is that there is Good News.  The reason we’re even celebrating tomorrow is because of the One who loves us far more than anyone else ever could.  God sent Jesus to us to live a perfect life because we couldn’t.  Jesus died a death on the cross with all of our sins on his shoulders because we couldn’t.  And then he rose from the dead, conquering death, because we couldn’t. And now he sits at God’s right hand as our advocate!  What a reason to celebrate!

So, if you wake up tomorrow not wanting to face the day without a part of your family, or you’ll be waking up before the sun because of the little people that live in your home, I hope and pray that your first thought in the morning is about Jesus. The one who humbly came into the world in a little stable and whose first visitors were shepherds from nearby fields.  But he was also the one who was announced by a host of angels from heaven!  If you have a few minutes, read Luke 2 today.

This is all because of God’s Never Stopping, Never Giving Up, Unbreaking, Always and Forever Love.

Merry Christmas, friends!
