Nearly Impossible

I can’t tell you how many photos I have from over the years of people taking a picture of me while I’m taking a picture of them.  One day I’ll collect them and make a 90s style collage to hang on my wall.  Or maybe I’ll just scatter them on the floor to take one photo and write a blog post about it.  That’s the more modern day approach, right? :-)

Anyway, Ben and I usually use each other as light testers at wedding receptions before the bride and groom are introduced.  The good news is that we’re getting better and better so it doesn’t take us nearly as long as it used to.  But this past weekend we did something we’ve never done before… and to be honest, I’m still not sure how we actually managed it without planning it!  We managed to take a photo of each other at the exact same second (according to the time log in each photo’s metadata) so we each caught the other’s flash going off too!

Maybe next time we’ll try to do something cooler since we now know we have this super power.  But for now, I’ll just remain impressed with the documented proof!

How great does he look in that vest and tie?!?!  Don’t worry, I have better photos of him than this that I’ll share later!
The only real difference in our two photos is that my camera was also radioed to an off-camera flash (with the little black box attached to the flash in the photo above), which is why Ben’s right side is lit up and you see the shadow of his arm across his chest.

So… have any of you discovered any super powers lately??

  1. Mommy says:

Love seeing our son all dressed up. Your influence on him is something I love to see.

  2. Makenzie says:

Look at those arms, Sabrina!! Strong and toned! Crossfit is paying off! :)

  3. […] that you’ll see us making faces at each other during the day, taking photos of each other (at the same time), or laughing over shots we captured of someone in mid-sentence or mid-dance step or mid-blink that […]
