Sneak Peek | A Full – and amazing – Weekend

It was one of those weekends that was SO full and SO busy… but SO much fun!  Thursday through Saturday we were in Asheville for our church’s Leader’s Retreat where we spent 3 days with 500 other leaders from our church.  YES!  500!  It was nothing short of amazing to see everyone (from 4 – soon to be 5) campuses across the upstate.  We laughed, we cried, we learned, we worshiped, we played, we had fun… and I can’t wait to do it again next year.

We left the retreat for lunch with some friends in downtown Asheville then drove to Rock Hill to see some dear friends where we ate and laughed some more!  We played, we planned, we dreamed, and we reconnected even though it didn’t feel like we’d actually been apart for so long.  Their daughter, my “sister” is getting married in April and I’m so excited to be able to spend a couple of days with them and with camera in hand!  Let’s just say that she and her soon-to-be hubby are going to make this blog look GOOD that week!

Sunday we woke up and made it to church just in time to sing the last few lines of the first song.  And again, we worshiped, we learned, we caught up with friends and may have shed a tear or two.  From there, we spent a few hours with our community group where we shared a meal and then began to share life stories.  There’s something about sitting in a room and telling those around you YOUR story.  The story of how you became the man or woman you are and how, looking back, you can see God’s hand on you even when you didn’t even realize He was there.  So, we ate, we laughed, we learned, we cried, and we loved.

Then… then!  Then I was able to meet some friends downtown to hang out and take their engagement pictures.  I think I screamed when I got her email that they were engaged and looking for their photographer!  I’ll tell you more about them later this week, but for now, just know that we played, we laughed, we had fun, and these two ROCKED their session.
