Ping Ting + Nick | Victoria Valley Vineyard Wedding

It was not an ideal Saturday.  And as I looked at the forecast for the day and saw a wall of rain making its way across the country, my heart sank for Ping and Nick because it looked like their wedding day was going to be less than ideal.

But that couldn’t have been farther from the truth.  When Ping arrived, she was a little disappointed that it was raining, but once she had her dress on and walked up to Nick at their First Look, it’s as if everything else faded away.  Their love, their smiles, their excitement to be with friends and family on their day – the one they’d waited so long for – outweighed any amount of rain that was falling outside.

And then, the day really did turn into a dream.  After the ceremony, the rain stopped and everyone was able to witness one of the most beautiful and glorious sunsets that I’ve ever seen!  Those portraits are some of my favorites from any wedding I’ve ever had the honor of photographing!

Ping and Nick, thank you.  Thank you for persevering over this last year to get to this day where you were able to commit to each other to be faithful and true for the rest of your days.  It was a joy and an honor to be there to capture your first day as husband and wife!

Even in the rain, Victoria Valley Vineyards is beautiful!

And the cake fit perfectly with the venue.

The getting ready room was tight, but her mom and sister still made it work!

While it was too wet for the ceremony, the space outside was still perfect for their First Look.

I love this shot that Ben captured.

The one on the left is a favorite!

This wedding looks so much different from the weddings we usually shoot, but it was a day that I was SO thankful for off camera lighting!

And I’m also thankful for these stairs!

The café upstairs – where the cocktail hour was moved to – was perfect for wedding party portraits.

Just Weddings just did a beautiful job on the florals!

Ping, you made such a stunning bride…

It was so sweet that Nick met Ping Ting halfway down to escort her to the alter.

MARRIED!

We stepped outside for a few photos with the decor…

And that was when I realized it wasn’t raining much anymore.

And while I love these and was so excited to have gotten some outside photos, we went back in for them to get a bite to eat…

But then when I saw Ben still outside, I went back out and saw THIS!  And I’m thankful Ping and Nick were willing to go back outside because it was totally worth it!

Gah!  So gorgeous!

Ping Ting is from Singapore, so to see her culture and traditions mixed into the reception was an extra touch of beautiful.

Susan Sanford and her team at Willrich Bridal and Special Events did an amazing job with the decor and rearranging things for the rain.

After the first course, Ping and Nick performed a traditional Chinese tea ceremony where they served tea to their parents which symbolizes acceptance into the respective families.

As usual, GoodLife Catering did an amazing job on the food!

The best man, Ian, gave a toast, and Ping Ting’s sister, Yi Ting, translated!  It was amazing.

The perfect parting gift for the guests of a wedding at a vineyard.
