What to do with Christmas Cards After Christmas

I always felt so guilty tossing Christmas cards in the trash once Christmas was over.  And even more so as people started sending cards with photos on them!  But having a stack of cards in a zip lock bag didn’t do much for me so a few years ago, I found the solution on (wait for it…) Pinterest!

It’s brilliant, it’s easy, and I love having these “books” of Christmas cards to set on the coffee table each year.  It’s really fun to go back through them year after year to see how kids have grown, haircuts have changed, and how even styles have changed in such a short amount of time!

There are several ways you could dress up the front of each “book”, but the last few years, I’ve held onto one of our cards and used it as the cover.  I haven’t always put the year on the front of the card, but at least the photo gives me an idea of when that set of cards is from.  I actually have one other set of cards (since this was our 4th Christmas together), but I didn’t save one of our own to put on the front (which is a bummer because it was one of our wedding photos!).

This whole project is super simple.  Just hole punch two holes into each card (you can usually punch 2 or 3 at a time depending on the thickness) and then feed the metal ring clasps through and voila!

I think I ended up finding these ring clasps at Wal-Mart several years ago (after looking other places!) and the only ones they had was a box with 2 or 3 different sizes.  I actually prefer the smaller ones (like in the photo below), but I just used the last set from that box which means I can find more of the size I want!

Super easy, super pretty, and you have one more decoration for next Christmas!
