Be in the Moment

I don’t know when or why it started, but my need to document and capture memories started way back when.  And I loved being able to share those documented moments when I got them back from the 1 hour photo lab.  And some days, if I was really excited about an event that had happened, I would get double or (gasp!) even triple prints so I could share them with other people.  It wasn’t because I thought my pictures were the most amazing by any stretch of the imagination, but I just enjoyed capturing moments and sharing them (I’ll be sharing more about this in the coming weeks and how this has changed/grown!).

But over the last couple of years I’ve had to learn to simply put down the camera and be in the moment.  If I have a camera with me, I’m constantly worried about capturing everything that I can.  But, as we’re planning our first anniversary trip (weren’t we just planning the wedding?!?) we decided to leave the camera at home.  I want to BE there with Ben, to create a memory instead of always trying to capture it.

So, the lesson for today?  Enjoy every moment.  BE in as many moments as you can.  And from time to time… capture a few in photos.
