Birthday Week Giveaways | Day 3 | 31Bits

Since announcing their weekly cause on Monday, Sevenly has raised over $10,000 (as of Tuesday morning) for Destiny Rescue… which equates to SIX undercover missions to rescue girls from sex trafficking in Thailand!  And how amazing is it that WE are able to be a part of that??  If you’d like to support this cause, Sevenly will be selling their beautiful shirts through next Monday at 1pm eastern.

As for yesterday’s Birthday Giveaway… our winner is… Emily McGowan!!  I’ll be in touch with the shirt or bag of your choice so we can get that ordered :-)  Congrats!!

Now for day 3… can you believe it’s Wednesday already?  Y’all, I so wish I could do this every week.  It’s so much fun!

I’m pretty sure I found out about 31Bits from Promise Tangeman (yes, her name really is Promise!).  She’s an incredible designer and I’ve heard her speak a couple of times about her business and how each of us has something that no one else has… the unique ability to be YOU.  Simple, right??  But it’s so easy to jump on board with everyone else!  Except that we don’t stand out as a business when we look like everyone else.  And in order to grow a business, we need clients, and in order to gain clients, we need to set ourselves apart.  So, we have to look like something that no one else can… OURSELVES.

So, what is 31Bits?  Kallie Dovel took a trip to Uganda in 2007 and found women making paper beaded necklaces.  However, these women lacked the resources to market and sell their jewelry.  After buying some necklaces and returning home from her trip, Kallie worked on a plan, got some friends on board, and returned to Uganda in 2008. From the website: “The girls traveled back to Uganda in August 2008, and selected six women to begin buying jewelry from on a monthly basis. Since then, we have grown to 99 women; each with a unique story of suffering that has been overcome with joy and liberation.”  NINETY NINE WOMEN!  How incredible is that??

The video above introduces you not only to some of the women, but you get to see them working and learn about how they are changing their lives (no really, if you didn’t watch it, you really need to!)!  And if you know me or have been around this blog long enough, you know how much of a supporter I am of life change :-)

So, by now, you know the drill on how to enter.  I love receiving comments on the blog almost as I love receiving new jewelry, but your entries into the giveaway will only be counted from the Rafflecopter box below.  The winner will receive an item of their choice from the 31Bits website!  Thanks so much for supporting such an incredible cause!

Posts from fall sessions will be on the blog next week, but I had to show you this sneak peek from last night’s session.  Such a super cute family!

Happy Wednesday and good luck!

Sabrina, I love 31Bits – thanks for the introduction. Chasing a lead on 31Bits I also found The Giving Keys another organization that empowers people – It is truly amazing how people are changing the world by following their own passions.
