This past weekend, one of my best friends, Arica, came into town with her new boyfriend.  What this meant for our house was that Christmas FINALLY came down!  It was an all-day event on Friday to get it down, but it happened and the house even got cleaned!  Maybe we should have company over more often…

From the moment Arica and Chris got here, we were on. the. go.  She hadn’t been to Greenville in a while and we had restaurants to visit, people to see, and this guy we needed to get to know!  We were also celebrating 10 years since we’d gone to Belgium and met the Greens and experienced Liege Belgian waffles for the first time.

But even as much as we did and as tired as I was and as many people as we saw, it was all worth it.  This introvert needs her downtime to recoup and recharge, but occasionally, pushing past my “introvert limits” is totally worth it.  There was no way I was going to miss a moment of Arica being in town or the chance to see the Greens and enjoy some Belgian waffles together.  But getting in a Sunday afternoon nap was glorious!

The lesson?  Enjoy the moment.  We’ve been so busy and on the go since 2014 started, but if we weren’t so intent on being present with those we’re with and what’s going on around us, I think we would have missed out on so much.

I’ll be sharing the past couple of weeks on the blog in the next few days so that you’ll be able to see just what we’ve been up to!  It’s been amazing and I’m a tad worried that the rest of this year won’t be able to hold a candle to what this month alone has been like.  But then I look at our calendar and our plans and our goals and realize that this month has only been a tiny taste of the fun that’s coming!
