Fabulous Friday | Grandma’s Birthday

My grandma is the best.  Now, I know a lot of people say that, but mine really is.  She’s also my last living grandparent so that just makes her all the more special :-)

Last Friday, on February 28, she turned 80 years old… not that you would necessarily know that by talking with her!  She is as keen and on top of things as they come and truth be told, you don’t want to mess with her because she’ll have you figured out in a heartbeat!  She’s an introvert (which is probably where I get it from since my mom and dad both were born with the ability to talk to ANYONE!), but she loves the people God has brought into her life.  I don’t get to see her very often since she’s always lived around Washington, D.C. and we mostly grew up in South Carolina, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized just what a treasure grandparents are.  So I never take my time or phone calls with her for granted.

Last week was crazy with our travel schedule – flying to California for a week, flying home on Thursday and flying out on Friday for D.C. – but I wouldn’t have missed celebrating grandma’s 80th birthday for anything.  Like I said, she is a treasure and the family she and my granddaddy raised and the grandkids she’s helped raised are just further proof of her love.  Her and my granddad’s legacy are in these photos and they’re something I will always cherish.

Not everyone was able to be there, but this is most of us!

And I’m not going to lie… this one is actually my favorite from the day.  She has the best smile and I can hear her laughing every time I look at this!
