Over the past 16 years of being a Greenville wedding photographer, I’ve captured many incredibly beautiful moments at dozens of venues. I’m sharing some of my most favorite Greenville wedding venues with some photos from real wedding weekends and links to each venue.
Each of these locations are unique in their own way and while this is not an extensive list, I’m excited to share what I know and have loved about each of them!
Westin Poinsett
The Westin Poinsett is one of my most favorite spots in downtown Greenville. It originally opened in 1925 but has been preserved and updated in the best ways! The moment you walk into the exquisite lobby, you feel as if you’ve stepped back in time. The high ceilings and architecture have an elegance and class that directly points to the 1920s. So it’s easy to imagine why hosting a Westin Poinsett wedding and/or reception would be the perfect location for such an amazing celebration. Not to mention its location in downtown Greenville means that it’s within walking distance to numerous restaurants, the Liberty Bridge, the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings and the most adorable local shops and bookstores you could ask for.
There are several options for ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, portraits as well as the unique privilege of rooftop portraits with the iconic neon sign. The Poinsett Ballroom can host up to 400 guests.

Poinsett Club
The Poinsett Club is a lovely downtown Greenville wedding reception venue that is also an excellent space for rehearsal dinners. With plenty of parking and indoor space for guests to enjoy, it’s easily accessible for everyone and can comfortably fit 250 or more guests! There are multiple rooms with an abundance of floor plan and style options. The back patio is also the perfect spot for some fresh air anytime of the evening.

Huguenot Loft
A Huguenot Loft wedding offers the same downtown accessibility as the Westin Poinsett. The loft has so many options for set-up and flow as well as close proximity to all kinds of downtown portrait locations. It’s so lovely on its own and can truly can be considered a blank canvas for any and all creativity you are dreaming of for your own wedding day.
Whether you’re having a fully catered sit-down meal (for up to 300 people) or delighting your guests with various culinary stations (for up to 400 people), there is plenty of space for friends and family to spread out during the reception. I’ve been able to see the rooms set up in so many different ways and am still in awe of how each couple makes it unique to them and their own wedding!

Grand Bohemian Lodge
A sophisticated Grand Bohemian Lodge wedding is as grand or intimate as you might dream it to be. With spaces than can accommodate anywhere from 18 (or less) to 200 guests, there are many options for the wedding you’re hoping for! Set overlooking Falls Park on the Reedy River, you are a short walk away from the abundant charm that downtown Greenville has to offer. The hotel itself has so many beautiful spots to host a welcome dinner, ceremony, reception and send-off brunch.
Rock Quarry Garden
The Rock Quarry is a perfect location for an elopement or smaller wedding. Between the gently cascading waterfall, trickling stream, rock bridge, shading trees and flowers blooming from spring to fall, it’s just magical!
A permit is required to hold an event here so be sure to reach out to the city of Greenville. All the details about having a wedding at the Rock Quarry can be found in their wedding packet here.
Greenville Country Club
The stunning and classic style of the Greenville Country Club still makes me swoon after photographing many weddings over the years. It’s only a few miles outside of downtown Greenville, but seems as though you’ve travelled much farther.
Walking through the grand front doors you’re immediately met by elegant furnishings and fixtures. But it doesn’t stop there. Each room brings elegance and sophistication to every wedding and reception. From the ballroom to the covered veranda overlooking the rolling greens of the golf course, you will feel as though you’ve stepped into a venue designed for unforgettable celebrations.
Photographer’s tip: ask for the use of a golf cart for golden hour portraits! It will be worth missing 10-15 minutes of your reception for those photos on the green!

Furman: The Rose Garden, Daniel Chapel, The Cherrydale House
Furman University’s campus is one of the most stunning places in the upstate. After photographing countless engagements, bridal portraits, weddings, maternity sessions, senior portraits and family photos, it’s still one of the most lovely and versatile locations!
The moment you step foot into the Furman Rose Garden (below), you feel as if you’ve stepped into a fairy tale. It’s the most dreamy spot for a standing-room-only ceremony, up to 70 guests.
Daniel Chapel (below) is beautiful with its vaulted ceiling and pipe organ and can easily accommodate up to 350 guests. The only caveat(s) with photos at the chapel is that while the inside is beautiful, its yellow walls can overtake the images sometimes. And the front of the chapel is in direct sunlight for most of the afternoon. So that’s something to be aware of when deciding on your ceremony time and/or portrait time if you’d like to take photographs in front of the chapel itself.
The Cherrydale House (below) is a bit more secluded on campus and offers space for an outdoor ceremony of up to 100 guests. You’ll also be able to use the indoor space of the historic home, which is so beautifully decorated!

The Grand Holland
If you want your wedding day to feel elevated in every way, a Grand Holland wedding will do exactly that. Picture the white column porch, the grand staircase, the courtyard’s European fountain and delightfully lovely grounds. Every corner of the estate will have you and your guests feeling as though they’ve stepped into a luxurious private getaway for the event of the year!
The property is just 16 minutes south of Greenville and less than half a mile off of I-385. Grand Holland can easily accommodate 150-175 guests with plenty of parking and even includes a honeymoon suite for the couple.
One of my favorite parts of The Grand Holland is the number of spaces for your guests to explore. Not only that, but if you would like an additional bridal portrait session, The Grand Holland has all of those gorgeous spaces for your portraits!

Hotel Hartness
Hotel Hartness is a lovely retreat on the outskirts of Greenville that offers beauty and luxury at every turn. Hosting your wedding weekend here means your wants and needs will be taken care of so that your only worry will be spending as much time as possible with your friends, family and your soon-to-be spouse! There is ample parking, plenty of space to gather and wander, many options for ceremony & reception locations and unlimited photo backdrops. A Hotel Hartness wedding can easily accommodate up to 300 guests. It can also be your sole destination for your entire wedding weekend; arrive on Wednesday or Thursday for time at the spa, enjoy your welcome dinner, wedding day and even a post-wedding brunch the day after your celebration!
Edinburgh West
The feeling of driving through the ornate iron gates of Edinburgh West is almost unmatched… until you walk into the glass conservatory. It may actually stop you in your tracks. The building is breathtakingly beautiful! And the grounds and ceremony locations are just as stunning!
A wedding day at Edinburgh West will seem like a day-long retreat to the European countryside. They can accommodate between 75-100 guests. Their website has a lot of information about their wedding collections and all of the available options.

The only (minor!) drawback is that for most of the day, the venue and grounds are in direct sunlight. While this may make photos tricky, a seasoned photographer will be able to handle any lighting situation with ease.
The Schoolhouse Venue
A Schoolhouse Venue wedding is going to be one of the most unique locations you and your guests may experience! 30 minutes from downtown Greenville, the old school house was built and used as a school from 1923 until 1964. And now, while it’s been updated, much of the original charm has been preserved or brought back to life! And let’s not forget that each couple, after being pronounced and walking back up the aisle, ring the school bell as part of the celebration!
The Schoolhouse Venue can host up to 150 guests and offers a venue-only package as well as their all-inclusive package “for couples who want to simplify the planning process without sacrificing style or personalization.”
I just love how unique the space is. The beautiful collection of chairs in the ceremony space seems to captivate my creative side each time I’m there!
