Now, before you skip over this post entirely, hear me out.  I know that today isn’t everyone’s favorite holiday.  Some are against it because they believe it’s a day made up just to get us to spend money on things like flowers and candy (which in reality, most people I know like those things so why is that so bad??).  And others dread it because it’s just another reminder that they don’t have a someone special to spend the day with.

And while I get both of those points of view, I also get what it means when you forget about all of that and just love the people around you… whoever that might be!  When God created us, He loved us.  And He still loves us.  Without anything attached to that.  And in turn, we are able to love because of that love He first had for us (I John 4:19).  So my challenge to ALL of us today is to share that love… in whatever way you can/want/are able to!  It could be scraping ice off your neighbor’s windshield before they leave the house for the day.  It could be buying someone’s coffee that’s in the drive thru behind you.  It could be as simple as holding the door open for someone and offering them a smile as they walk inside a building.  Or it could be as sweet as leaving notes in a public restroom that say “You are beautiful and you are loved.” (ok, that one may be best in a women’s restroom!)

Whatever you do today though, don’t listen to the lies that you aren’t special enough or you aren’t loved just because you don’t get a delivery of flowers and chocolate.  God created you… which means that even when it feels like no one else loves you (which also isn’t true), HE loves you!

And truth be told, I love you too… not just because you’re reading this blog but because EACH of you are such an encouragement and inspiration to me!
