Jason + Shannon | A Charleston Anniversary

This Thursday, July 25, will mark 10 years from when Jason and Shannon took a walk on the beach on Sullivan’s Island.  Shannon thought she would be ending things…  She’d had her heart broken before, so to prevent that from happening again, she had given them 6 months to see where this might go.  But along their walk, Jason abruptly changed her plans.  As he got down on one knee and presented her with a marriage proposal and the most beautiful ring she had ever seen, she realized her plans weren’t what mattered.  God had a journey for them both and from here on out, they would be walking through life together.

These two have walked through the thick and thin, the better and the worse, and God keeps growing them as He pulls them towards Himself.

Over the last year or so, they’ve walked through another journey as Shannon has lost over 100 pounds!!  WOW!  When she mentioned to me that she was able to fit into her wedding dress again, we started planning.  So, this past week, we went back to Summerall Chapel on The Citadel’s campus where Jason and Shannon said I do almost 10 years ago.

Shannon, I didn’t know you then, but last week you were as radiant as any bride on her wedding day.  SO beautiful!

I love this one in black and white…

The Charleston Flower Market provided an almost exact replica of Shannon’s bouquet that they did on her wedding day!

Oh Summerall… you’re quite the perfect spot for portraits.

And then we kept the doors open and went back inside.  AH!  LOVE that light!

LOVE.

And then?  We went over to the quad!

Jason was a cadet at the Citadel and while his quad isn’t there anymore, this was the closest… which was perfect to wrap up Shannon’s bridals.

Love this!!

So glad we pulled Jason in for some too.

We then headed out to Sullivan’s Island for some photos of the two of them since this is where Jason proposed.

Dear grooms, spontaneity like this is always welcomed on our sessions and on your wedding day!
(Proof: do you see that smile on her face??)

Favorite for sure.

Shannon, I’m SO GLAD you decided on the red dress!!

Love these two…

Just gorgeous.
