Leslie and John first met in high school, and while they dated for a little while, life had other plans. They broke up before heading off to Clemson, but John never really got over her. He jokes that he was “that guy” who couldn’t move on, but in his defense, Leslie was (is!) something special: a joyful spirit, a selfless heart, athletic talent, and the kind of personality that made everyone feel like a friend.

During college, when John pursued her, Leslie pursued his heart; so much so that she kept pointing him to something bigger than their relationship. She encouraged him to pursue God and helped him grow, even when they weren’t officially together.

Then, when the timing was finally right, they went on what they call their second first date, which happened after college. From that day on, they both knew.  They’d found their way back to something real, and this time, it was for good.
