They’d known each other for years through mutual friends but hadn’t ever really talked much.  After Chris graduated, he and Madison stayed in touch over social media but it was nothing more than to check in and keep up with the other.

But after Madison had gotten back to the states from an internship he reached out with slightly different intentions… in his words, she didn’t say yes at the time, but she didn’t say no either!  A few months later, she was heading to his city for a job interview at his firm, let him know and asked him if he’d like to meet up for drinks.  He tried to not get his hopes up, but drinks turned into dinner and dinner turned into a walk around downtown that finally ended around 1am.

Turns out, they’d just had their first date.

And they clicked immediately.  But they’d been slowly building this connection over the years so after a couple months of dating when Madison told her siblings and parents how she felt and that she thought she would marry this guy, they were not surprised in the least!

But their actual proposal?  It was brilliant on Chris’s part.  He used the guise of Madison’s grandmother’s birthday to set up a surprise engagement party (she even saw her parent’s house decorated thinking it was for her grandmother but it was actually for her!).  They went to a park for her sister’s graduation photos, but when Madison and Chris arrived and BOTH sets of parents showed up shortly after, she knew what was happening… Chris got down on one knee asking her to marry him.

Their laughs are frequent and genuine… and completely contagious!

They both said this was their first real professional photo session,
but less than halfway through, they were reading my mind and posing themselves!

These two love to travel as much as I do and they are looking forward to the day when they can hop on planes again without a second thought.  So, I asked Madison to bring her collection of postcards so we could include those in some of their photos and I love how these turned out!

So excited to see you guys again in September!  Your wedding day will be here before we know it!
