Monday Musings

December 1, 2014

Monday Musings | Thanksgiving via Instagram

This weekend was more needed than I realized.  It was so nice to have four days to focus on a few projects, resting, and spending time with family and neighbors and eating way too much!  I posted the photos below on Instagram but it’s always fun to see a full weekend in one image instead of several.

  • Thursday consisted of my brother and husband cooking an amazing spread for 7 of us that gathered around the table…  I would tell you how amazing it was, but I don’t want you to be too jealous of our spread.
  • On Friday, we slept in and eventually made our way to the furniture store to get a crib and bedding for baby Catherine.  Ah!  It’s so real now!  Well, except that the furniture is still at the store since our nursery is still functioning as a storage room!
  • After our minimal Black Friday shopping for a crib, we went to see Mocking Jay, Part 1 and then headed to the Melting Pot for dinner.  Holy moly.  It’s impossible to eat a full meal there and NOT feel like you need to be rolled out the door.  Even with maternity pants on, I felt like I was going to pop if Ben hugged me too tightly.  But… SOOO worth it! YUM!
  • Saturday, we bravely tuned in to watch the Clemson/South Carolina game and FINALLY after 5 long years, we won again!  Thankfully, we are and will be on top in terms of wins of this rivalry for a long time, but these last five years have been tough.  This was the first time since Ben and I have been together that Clemson has won.  It’s been that long!
  • We wrapped up Saturday and Sunday with slowly starting to decorate the house.  I bought this little tree when I bought my house in 2009 and it still works and fits just as perfectly at our new house.  I can’t believe that next year we’ll have a little one trying to get her hands on the ornaments and lights.  I can’t wait!
