My New Blogging Schedule

There’s no doubt that what they say about becoming parents is true… it’s the most challenging AND most wonderful thing ever.  We are constantly amazed by this baby girl; watching her discovering the world around her has brought SO much joy!  And it seems as though there’s nothing her sweet smiles can’t make better.

And while all of the blessings far outweigh the tough days, those days are still there and they take a toll!  Way back when I was dreaming of being a full-time photographer, part of my reasoning was that I could work from home, which would allow me, as a wife and mom, to create my own schedule.  That way, I could stay at home with our kids while still having my own focus/work/passion.  And it blows my mind some days that I’m exactly where I’d dreamed about being!

But what we don’t know, we don’t know.  And what I didn’t know was what  it would be like to have a baby that’s 100% dependent on me that doesn’t always adhere to my schedule ;-)  It seems as though I would have thought of that, but she’s either being too cute and adorable to lay down or she’s being too fussy and doesn’t want to lay down at the times that I need to get work done.

So I’m letting myself off the hook on some things.  And the primary thing is this blog.

I really enjoy blogging.  I enjoy sharing what’s on my mind, what we’ve been up to as a family, the brides and grooms I get to document life for, the moms and dads welcoming babies into the world… but I think in order for me to KEEP enjoying it, I need to let some of it go.

When I started photography full time, I made the commitment to blog at least four times a week.  And until baby Catherine came along, I only missed that mark a handful of times in two years.  But the stakes have changed a little bit and I need to give myself some grace while we keep adjusting.

So for the next few months, there may only be a couple of posts a week.  Or there may be weeks that I blog every day.  The main thing I want you to know is that this blog is still very much alive and I want you to keep coming back!!  Thank you guys so much for being on this journey with us.  Your encouragement, love, support and sweet comments since Catherine Marie has arrived have meant the world to us!

Yes, adding a baby to the family certainly requires adjustments. Don’t worry, we’ll keep coming back while we know your life has just changed immensely! But good immensely! We love you!

Yes! Do what works and don’t worry about the rest!
