Whitney + Jordan | Reserve at Lake Keowee Engagement

They were in a class of only 38 people at Elon.  And as their study groups worked together to learn physical therapy over the semester, the small class size allowed them to have plenty of time to get to know each other.  By the end of the year, they were going on their first date and both realized that the other was so easy to talk to and so much fun to be around.  So by the time they left to do their individual rotations, the six months they were apart weren’t quite as difficult as they had imagined it would be.  But that’s what happens when you find the person that’s a perfect fit for you.  All of those difficult things are worth working for, worth fighting for, worth spending extra hours on the phone for.

This past Thanksgiving, Whitney was working at camp and was finishing things up to get on the road to spend the holiday with Jordan in North Carolina.  They’d been apart for a while so she was anxious and excited to get going.  But her heart and thoughtfulness kept her helping the owners (who are also friends) until everything was done.  As she walked into one of the buildings for one last errand, she was stopped in her tracks when she opened the door.  This rainy and dreary day outside was met with a roaring fire, champagne, and the love of her life waiting for her on the inside.  She couldn’t believe Jordan was standing there.  She also couldn’t believe it when he got down on one knee and proposed.

Whitney and Jordan, it was so much fun spending the afternoon with you two.  I know things are crazy right now as you are living in different cities and planning a wedding when you’re miles apart.  But that won’t be the case for much longer.  Your love is so sweet and so genuine and so FUN!  We are so excited about your wedding later this summer and can’t wait to celebrate the rest of this engagement and your wedding day with you!

These two LOVE watching sports.  Of almost any kind.  So they incorporated that into their session which was so fitting because it’s SO them!

We decided they had about 4 or 5 different sports represented with their shirts.  Which is pretty impressive!

We could have stayed in this spot all evening!  Look at these two… and that light!

Whitney is a huge UK basketball fan.  But even though they didn’t win the championship this year, I don’t think that’s going to deter her from cheering for them!

One of my favorite things during these sessions is to tell the groom to make his bride laugh… it ALWAYS brings out the best smiles!

They said that while they don’t necessarily pull for Elon sports teams, it was where they met so it was only right that they represent that school too!

Oh I can NOT wait to get them back to this spot on their wedding day!!

After a little football practice, they changed clothes and we wandered around a bit before the sun dipped behind the horizon.

Jordan, the ring is beautiful!

I’m so thankful some of the trees were still in bloom!

The view?  It’s pretty spectacular.  Especially with these two in front of it.

I think this one might be my favorite…
