Casey and Brendan’s destination wedding at Savannah’s Historic Railroad Museum was the most perfect day! With touches of southern charm, their love of travel and Brendan’s affinity for trains, the History Railroad Museum in Savannah, GA was truly the most perfect venue for their first day as husband and wife.
My husband and I met Casey through our small group at church over a decade ago. She was committed to our group, to her faith and each friend she’s gotten to know throughout her life. So when she got engaged and asked if I was available to photograph her wedding, it was an immediate YES! But with a short pause as their wedding date coincided with a couple of other big events.
To say I am thankful it worked out and that I could attend AND capture Casey’s wedding would be such a huge understatement. Casey was a part of our life when we were newlyweds, when we first found out we were pregnant and then discovered we were going to miscarry. She was in our small group when our next pregnancy was healthy and came over to help throw a gender reveal party (truly, it wouldn’t have happened without her being there!). She then graciously babysat several times! And then she moved to Florida – but we were still in touch and she joined us at Disney one afternoon when we had traveled down for my birthday one year!
We met over video calls a couple of times but getting to meet Brendan on his and Casey’s wedding day was really sweet! He loves the Lord, he loves Casey and he was so kind and welcoming from our first video hello. And every piece of that is true of him in real life too!!
Enjoy experiencing their day through some of my (many!) favorite photos!
Casey gifted Brendan a pocket watch and it was the perfect final touch for him!
Before the reception, we took some time for portraits inside one of the refurbished train cars. It felt like we had stepped back in time!
I can never say enough about the importance of a strong and talented vendor team.
Vanessa’s team from Spectacular Saturdays and Kim of Farmer Blue were so wonderful to work with – before, during and after the wedding day!
Every detail and every moment were taken care of. And it was stunning!
There were train rides for their guests during the evening, which may be one of the most unique touches I’ve ever seen!
Instead of doing a bouquet toss, Casey honored her mom by dedicating her bouquet to her.
She was so surprised and responded by giving Casey the biggest hug!
If you saw this reel on Instagram, then you know I was asking Casey and Brendan for “one more!” photo…
The two images of them below are what we captured!
