As the holiday schedules start to get a little crazy and seemingly out of hand, my hope is that I will remember that the reason we’re doing all of this… the decorating, the celebrating, the parties, the meals, the gifts… was actually for our benefit.  The reason Jesus came and was born to Joseph and the virgin Mary was so that he could ultimately become the sacrifice for us to have a relationship with God.

I’ve talked a lot about HOPE this year and my prayer is that as you see all of the Christmas lights, as you laugh and sing and celebrate with friends, that you’ll KNOW that the reason for everything we’re doing is to bring honor and glory to God.  He sent us His Son, the ultimate light that points towards a life with Him.

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world.
