Andrew + Laura | A Maternity Session

Laura wasn’t actually the first one to contact me.  It turns out we have some mutual friends and those mutual friends contacted me about photographing Andrew and Laura’s son’s birth.

The truth is, their sweet son Hudson has several things going on, which has made this pregnancy much more difficult than they ever imagined.  If you would like to read their story, Laura has shared their journey on their blog over at https://hudsonisaac.wordpress.com/  where her words are much more eloquent than mine could ever be.

I will get to see these two again, but we were able to take some time at the lake, a place that has been very therapeutic for Laura, for a maternity session.  It was a way they could celebrate Hudson’s life and be a family of 3 in photos without having to think about doctor’s appointments or a very uncertain future.

I’m so thankful these two are resting in the hope of Jesus and that he’s the one they’re leaning on through this journey.  It’s incredible that you can see that hope and joy in their faces.  God is good.

These last few are from a roll of film that I shot during their session.  Andrew and Laura were gracious with me and very patient!  These images aren’t perfect, but I’m getting better results with each roll I take :-)

I’m pretty sure this last photo is my favorite from our entire time together!
