I love daffodils for so many reasons… they stand out in my mind from growing up because I think we had several in our yard so I would pick them and put them in water inside the house.  I loved that we had fresh flowers that came from our front yard!

But the other reason?  It means spring is coming!  Warmer weather, longer days, fewer layers and lots of pretty dresses for our little baby!

Ben and I were looking out our back window at our back yard a few days ago and amongst all of the dirt and the creek and brush, there was a little patch of green and yellow.  He couldn’t figure out what it was but I knew immediately that it was a patch of daffodils!  They really are like a breath of fresh air.

So this morning, I bundled Catherine and myself up, put her on my back in the ergo and we went for a little field trip to see the daffodils.  I didn’t pick them this time but we may take another trip down there next week and I’ll let Catherine pick her very first flower :-)
