Almost 20 years ago I was on staff for a mission project in Tennessee when, on the (pay)phone with my mom, I heard the very first cries of my nephew when he was born! My brother’s son was the cutest little butterball you’ve ever seen and, since it was 20 years ago, I had to wait for photos to come to me in the mail to see for myself!! It was such a gift to hear his cries when I wasn’t able to be there in person. I really should find the first photo he and I have together… I’m sure he’d love me posting that one! :-)
But now, 20 years later, I get a front row seat as he marries the love of his life this fall. It’s been quite the ride these last couple of decades, but the Lord has been so good and has answered so many prayers that I get emotional just thinking about it. I am SO thankful that Karli and Nate met and decided to see what the Lord might have for them as a couple and I can’t wait to see how He’s going to use them in the next several decades as husband and wife!
On their first date a couple of years ago, they actually met for breakfast at 6am and then ventured over to Glendale Shoals to hang out and keep talking. When I found this out, I proposed that we recreate that first date and I’m so glad they were up for it! We got prime seats at The Skillet in Spartanburg and there was NO one else at Glendale Shoals that morning. It was super early, but so incredibly worth it.
You guys… I’m going to be an emotional mess on your wedding day. So be prepared! My vow though, is to use auto focus to its fullest advantage and to capture the most amazing memories for y’all to look back on for years and years to come. I love you both so much and can’t wait for October!
Their laughs are just amazing!
He wasn’t meaning to, but I think Nate was channeling James Dean just a bit…
