Monday Musings

Monday Musings | On a Tuesday

I’d been dying to go to St. Simons for a while so when Emily contacted me last year about shooting their wedding in St. Simons, I couldn’t believe it!  As we drove in on Friday evening, it was all I could to do not stop every five feet to take a photo of the Spanish moss dripping from the trees.  It’s just so beautiful and so romantic!  And as we did their wedding portraits after the ceremony amongst those oak trees and the moss, I realized that I was actually living in a dream for a little while.  It was amazing and I can’t wait to share their wedding with you tomorrow!

This weekend was perfect.  The rehearsal and dinner Friday night were both a lot of fun.  The wedding day on Saturday was beautiful and on Sunday we slept in until 11:30!  I don’t know the last time I slept that late… then we went out for lunch, went to the beach for a couple of hours (where, despite the clouds, we only felt a handful of rain drops), then got ready so we could go out to dinner that night.  And yes, we had seafood both times.  Shrimp is definitely better by the coast and 1.5lbs of crab legs is a lot of crab for one person.  At least it is for this person.  But it was delicious!

The drive home on Monday was uneventful (the kind of drive that I like!) and we read Insurgent out loud as we drove home.  On the way, we made a stop at Le Creuset Factory Store because they were having a sidewalk sale and I wanted to see just how good the sale prices were.  So we get off the interstate and see the large sign… that’s in a large empty field.  We drive past it thinking it should be right there.  But we get to an intersection and see nothing.  We look at each other like someone is playing a huge prank on us because we have no idea what’s going on!  So we turn around and go back to the sign and that’s when we see it… the little store that’s sitting about 200 yards in front of the sign.  We’d been so focused on the huge orange sign that we didn’t see the tiny little store!

I am so thankful for such a fun weekend and that Ben and I are able to do things like this together.  Getting to spend the weekend with him while working and relaxing and just getting to be around him for days on end makes my heart happy!

Have a wonderful week, my friends!
