They were scheduled to get married in May of 2020. And as the pandemic hit, we talked a lot, about different options, different dates… and Katie and Blake rescheduled a few different times. The thing that was most important to them that kept pushing things back for them was they really wanted their friends and family there to celebrate with them. ALL of their friends and family!
So when they landed on October 22, 2021, Katie said, “We’re not moving this again, this is THE date!” And when I walked into her hotel room, saw her bridesmaids, her mom, the flower girls and the flurry of activity, I couldn’t help but get tears in my eyes. It was here!
And the day was absolutely perfect. It was a gorgeous fall day, the sun was out, the temperature just right… and their people were there with them. I think saying Katie was excited would be an understatement. And when I saw Blake, he said he was too (just not as much about the photos!).
Katie and Blake, THANK YOU for hanging with me for so long. For trusting me throughout these last couple of years and in the midst of disappointment and frustrations, for handling everything with grace and kindness. I’m so excited for you both and to be sharing your wedding photos!!! It’s been a long time coming, but I would say the day, the celebration and these images were completely worth the wait! Love you guys!
Katie’s niece so badly wanted to be outside with her gran and her aunts!
Katie’s veil will always have a special place in my heart!
I always feel like I’m in Europe when I’m at this church – inside or outside! It’s so beautiful.
I originally had this one of Blake and his brother watching Katie walk up the aisle in black and white,
but then realized that both of them had tears in their eyes! So it had to be in color for the blog.
The parents and grandparents truly had a front row seat in the choir loft for the ceremony!
This family is so special to me! It all started with Katie’s brother and sister-in-law’s wedding several years ago, then her cousin’s wedding in early 2019 and now Katie and Blake! This wedding felt a little like a family reunion and getting to see so many familiar faces! I loved it and am SO thankful for these 3 beautiful ladies trusting me to capture so many sweet moments!
Clink! Events did such an incredible job!! Everything was beautiful so so smooth the entire day thanks to those ladies.
I love that they had one last dance – just themselves and a recorded song as the band and venue began packing up.
